According to an estimate by Norwegian research firm Rystad Energy cited by Bloomberg, Venezuela will not be able to exceed 3 million barrels of oil per day before 2050. For sustained production growth, the country will need approximately $85 billion in investment, which must be directed to the industry between 2027 and 2040. However, the forecast depends on stable and accessible financing: the oil industry will have to restore key infrastructure, modernize drilling technologies, and once again attract major international investors to develop the reserves of the Orinoco Belt and other traditional fields. Experts emphasize that it will take decades for Venezuela to return to its historic production levels.
