A single-engine plane crashed in a residential neighborhood north of Lake Stevens, Washington, on Sunday evening, seriously injuring the pilot. The crash occurred around 6:05 p.m. near Frontier Air Park, where the plane went down in the yard of a home on Northeast 127th Avenue. The pilot was the only person aboard. Neighbors provided first aid, and responding rescuers freed the pilot from the wreckage and took him to a hospital. Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies also responded to the scene. The cause of the crash will likely be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. Frontier Air Park is a residential aviation community with its own runway surrounded by homes.
